Although Liz and Dan no longer live in the Washington, DC area, they had their first date in Capitol Hill almost four years ago. Since that date included coffee in Eastern Market and browsing Capitol Hill Books, they wanted to incorporate these special memories in their session. I was very excited when they decided to have an Eastern Market DC engagement, and when they brought their adorable dog Howie along for the photos!

Since my husband and I own three terriers of our own, dogs are always welcome to join in the fun. In fact, we’ve had many engagements and weddings include furry guests.

The old bookstore made for a unique setting that I loved. Howie was able to join his mom and dad for the first few photographs, and then he went home with Liz’s sister and brother-in-law. After that, we headed to a street with romantic row homes. Brick walls and bright foliage always makes for great engagement pictures!
